Rebecca Brennan is joining Princeton University Press (PUP) as senior editor for the social sciences.
Brennan was most recently at Routledge where she was senior publisher for sociology, geography, and criminology, commissioning crossover titles and textbooks for Routledge’s sociology list. PUP said that she brings extensive experience publishing across several fields, including helping to relaunch Routledge’s Key Ideas series and working with leading authors including Noam Chomsky and Joe Feagin.
Eric Crahan, Princeton’s editorial director for the humanities and social sciences, said: "We are tremendously excited bringing Becca Brennan to our social sciences team. Her distinct skills and experience strengthen and expand an important area for the press, and it underlines our commitment to a global approach and impact for our publishing, and will enhance our UK editorial group. Her creativity and demonstrated editorial acumen are an exciting opportunity for PUP’s publishing ahead."
Brennan said: "I’m excited to join Princeton as I have long admired their commitment to publishing the most impactful research and influential voices within university press publishing. In this role I am looking forward to commissioning titles from across the social sciences, particularly those which reach out across disciplinary boundaries to confront key societal issues such as justice, inequality and the climate crisis."
Christie Henry, director of PUP, also commented: "Becca is an inspiring publisher, and we are all grateful for the ways in which her ideas and insights will evolve our global endeavors. It’s a joy to have Becca on the team, and to have the energy of her collaborations radiating from our Oxford office."
Brennan is working from PUP’s Banbury Road Office in Oxford.
