"Bridgerton" star Adjoa Andoh will be hosting an event at the Black to the Future (BttF) festival.
This year, the festival will feature the first in a series of "Kinetic Discourses" in partnership with the Royal Society of Literature (RSL) and The Standard Hotel. Andoh will be in conversation with Hodderscape science fiction and fantasy editor Calah Singleton, discussing the behind-the-scenes creations of "future worlds and fantasies", hosted at The Standard’s Library Lounge on 3rd December.
BttF will also host a screening of "Hidden Figures" at The Garden Cinema on 14th December, introduced by BttF founder Irenosen Okojie MBE and BttF creative director Sara Veal, in conversation about the "visionary" aesthetics of Janelle Monáe.
BttF is an Afro-Futurist multidisciplinary, hybrid biennial arts festival, celebrating Black artists across literature, music and film. It was founded and directed by Okojie in collaboration with the RSL and the British Library.
The first event of the festival will be a discussion between the Africa-in-Motion film festival founder Liz Chege and photographer David Kwaw Mensah, followed by a screening of Saul Williams’ landmark sci-fi punk musical "Neptune Frost". It will take place tomorrow (Tuesday 24th October) at The Garden Cinema.
