The British Book Awards is to work with Fane Productions and the publishing podcast "Main Characters" in order to further expand the audience for the awards.
Fane Productions is to create a free post-awards highlights show, airing on Fane TV on 29th May and featuring exclusive winner interviews, comments from the award judges and key moments from the evening itself.
Meanwhile, the publishing podcast "Main Characters" is to create a trio of episodes devoted to the awards. The three publishing professionals, Katie Packer, Soraya Bouazzaoui and Rochelle Dowden-Lord, will bring their own unique blend of book chat, industry insight and comic relief before, during and after Nibbies night.
Philip Jones, editor of The Bookseller, said: "We are looking forward to working with Fane and its established platform to take The British Book Awards out to a new audience. The initiative builds on the virtual shows we produced during the lockdowns, and will further expand the reach of the British Book Awards to readers who love books and publishing as much as we do. We are also excited to support the ’Main Characters’ podcast with a series of Nibbies-focused shows. Theirs is an enthusiastic and distinctive take on publishing, and their much-needed irreverence will offer an alternative look at The British Book Awards, as well providing a showcase for our shortlisted authors."
The British Book Awards takes place as an in-person event and live-stream on 23rd May, with table sales bookings now open. In addition to those above, other media partners for 2022 include Audiobookish, Bad Form, Love Reading 4 Kids, Magic Radio Book Club, Red Hot Chilli Writers, Scala, Stylist and The Week Junior. Those who wish to watch the highlights show may register online.
