Three candidates from the British book trade have been selected as recipients of the 2019 Zev Birger Editorial Fellowships at the new Jerusalem International Book Forum (JIBF).
Emmie Francis, editor at Faber & Faber; Ana Fletcher, senior editor at Jonathan Cape; and Carrie Plitt, agent at Felicity Bryan Associates will join 32 other fellows from across the world.
Francis, Fletcher and Plitt said in a statement: “We’re so thrilled to be taking part in the JIBF editorial fellowship in 2019. It boasts such a distinguished alumni network and we are looking forward to building lasting relationships among editors, agents and scouts across the world. It feels particularly important right now to participate in a programme that fosters international dialogue in the publishing industry – and in one of the most compelling and beautiful cities in the world.”
The fellows will take part in a special week-long programme which will include panels and discussions around issues concerning the international publishing community, visit the Dead Sea and Masada, tour Jerusalem and meet Israeli publishers. It will coincide with the new JIBF being held May 12-15, which will be attended by more than 200 publishing professionals from around the world.
