Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me (Gallery) has sold 1.27 million copies across all formats in the UK and US in its first week on sale.
Spears shifted nearly 91,000 print copies to easily top the Official UK Top 50 chart in its first week on sale and become Simon & Schuster’s fastest-selling non-fiction title since accurate records began. The publisher said unit sales through all print and digital editions for the UK combined for the week was 170,000.
Publishers Lunch reported US sales were 1.1 million units across all formats, with particularly strong audiobook sales. Gallery said the narration read by Michelle Williams was its fastest-selling audiobook. Circana Bookscan tracked sales of 418,000 hardcovers in the US.
More broadly, the publisher reports: “The book has been published in 26 languages/territories and is a number one bestseller with an estimated 2.4 million copies in print globally.”
