Brock Media is launching its first audio project with a podcast series, “Never Told”, featuring Caleb Azumah Nelson and Emma Jane Unsworth among others authors.
The anthology includes eight stories written and performed by writers Azumah Nelson, Unsworth and Zing Tsjeng along with actors Harry Trevaldwyn, Thaddea Graham and Esther Smith, writer and producer Deborah Haywood and comedian Joanne Lau. Episodes will run weekly between 5th June and 24th July.
Brock Media is a London-based BBC Studios-backed production company which produced feature film “Animals” based on Unsworth’s novel and the upcoming adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s memoir The Outrun (Canongate).
Brock Media said: “The first series of this intimate and genre-defying podcast is an eight-part anthology of stories that span teenage abortion, Parisian hook-ups, musical odysseys, fantasy friendships, trying to master yoga poses, loss, grief, rage and a night of strange encounters.”
Sarah Brocklehurst, founder and c.e.o. of Brock Media and executive producer of "Never Told", said: “As a company we are committed to exceptional storytelling in all its forms and I’m so excited that we’re powering into the audio space with eight of our TV writers and our brilliant [creative audio] producer Nicole Davis.”
Davis said: “It’s been a privilege to craft these stories alongside the writers and to pair them with bespoke soundscapes that will take listeners on journeys to different countries, eras and emotions and, more importantly, into the minds of our talented contributors, and all manner of things they haven’t dared to share before.”
Brock Media also has a “horror-skewing” anthology podcast in the pipeline, due for release later this year.
