Katie Brown has been promoted to senior commissioning editor at Trapeze following a string of successes at the Orion imprint.
Brown joined in January 2018, working with publishing director Sam Eades to grow the Trapeze fiction list, and has acquired over 30 titles for the imprint.
Her list includes Queenie author Candice Carty-Williams, who Brown publishes with managing director Katie Espiner, Amazon bestseller Sarah J Naughton, Tracey Garvis-Graves, the Emmerdale saga series, and big crime debut launch for 2020, Robin Morgan-Bentley, author of The Wreckage.
She has secured recent deals with Sarah Rhiannon Ward, whose gothic historical thriller The Quickening publishes in August 2020, and James Gould-Bourn, whose novel Keeping Mum has sold in 12 territories and been optioned for TV by triple Emmy-winners Lime Pictures.
A Bookseller Rising Star in 2018 and co-founder of Hachette’s All Together Network, before joining Orion Brown worked for Thomson Reuters, Riot Communications and as a publicist for Headline.
