Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUPA) has said some roles could be at risk as its English language teaching and assessment businesses merge.
Last summer Cambridge University Press (CUP) and Cambridge Assessment formally merged into one organisation and the integration of the businesses remains ongoing.
A spokesperson told The Bookseller: “As we bring teams together there will inevitably be some duplication of roles. It is our intention to retain as many current roles within the combined organisation as possible and where there is duplication to redeploy people within the business wherever we can.
"We know this may create uncertainty, but we are committed to doing this with our people in an open and transparent way.”
The spokesperson stressed the merged business anticipates “growth rather than reduction in the total numbers of our people over the coming years”.
