Canelo is launching a US imprint after seeing "huge growth" in print.
The e-book and paperback publisher is partnering with Readerlink’s Printers Row Publishing Group on the venture, and will publish “around 16” books across all of Canelo’s key genres in the first year.
Iain Millar, managing director at Canelo, said: “Print has been a huge growth story for us over the past three years. Although we started as a digital publisher, print is now core to everything we do. We’ve been thinking about the best way of getting our titles into the US print market for some time, and are absolutely delighted to partner with Readerlink and Printers Row Publishing Group to make Canelo US a new and exciting reality.”
Peter Norton, vice-president and publisher at Printers Row, added: “We’ve been interested in entering the genre fiction business for a while as a way to complement our robust Canterbury Classics line. Partnering with Canelo, one of the fastest-growing UK fiction publishers is a perfect fit. Canelo US will have a huge range of quality authors and a myriad of genres for the North American market.”
