Mary Cannam will be promoted to the newly created role of chief operating officer for Faber.
Currently finance and commercial director, she will be taking on a new, expanded role as c.o.o after 17 years with the publisher.
In this role she will take on broader responsibilities alongside her direct responsibility for the finance, commercial, contracts, archive and sales operations teams. These will include the company's day-to-day operation and delivery of the company's strategy, working closely with Stephen Page, c.e.o., and acting as his deputy in the running of the business in the newly created role. She continues to play a key role as a member of the company's board and senior team.

Cannam joined Faber in 2002, having previously worked for Waterstones and HarperCollins. She joined the board as commercial director in 2009 and became finance and commercial director in 2011.
