Capstone appoints Pocock as UK m.d.

Doug Pocock has been appointed as the new m.d. of Capstone’s UK business.

Pocock will take charge of the educational Raintree business as well as the fiction and picture book list, Curious Fox. He takes over from Miles Stevens-Hoare who is leaving to join audiobook business, W F Howes.

“Raintree is going from strength to strength,” said Pocock, who was previously m.d. of Abrams & Chronicle Books. “It’s had great success in the curriculum side of the business and the library supply sector is faring well in a national climate of library budget cuts. I’m looking forward to working with the team in Oxford to harness the power of digital technology, to supporting teachers and librarians and to creating a community of readers around our books.”

Capstone has also expanded the remit of international marketing director Claire Dowse, who will now cover marketing and PR for all areas of the UK business.
