Cara Lee Simpson has joined the Susanna Lea Associates London office as a literary agent.
She joins from Peter Fraser & Dunlop, where she set up the Queer Fiction Prize in 2021 and has been building a list of literary and upmarket fiction and select non-fiction clients, including Jacqueline Bublitz, Okechukwu Nzelu, Roxy Dunn, Kiprop Kimutai, Angela Chadwick and Dan Spencer.
Simpson said: “I love the ethos of SLA, with its carefully curated list and the care and attention that goes with it, with the agents working together generously to champion each client around the globe. I’m looking forward to being part of that and am excited for the opportunities it will offer my authors.”
Thérèse Coen, director of SLA London, said: “Cara’s taste and editorial eye are unmatched, and her approach fits in perfectly with our agency’s culture.”
