Journalist Caroline Hutton is to become the chair of The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival, replacing Baroness Gail Rebuck who stepped down last year.
Hutton will become a trustee of Cheltenham Festivals and join the Board of Directors of the charity.
Following her work on the inaugural Books Are My Bag campaign, Hutton was invited by Baroness Rebuck to join the Literature Festival’s Advisory Board and has worked closely with the programming team for the last three years. She also set up the Althorp Literary Festival.
“I am deeply honoured to have been asked by Cheltenham Festivals’ Board to chair the Literature Festival", Hutton said. "It’s no small task to take over from Baroness Rebuck, who has been such an inspiration for the last four years, but I look forward to building on her achievements and continuing to help make Cheltenham Literature Festival the outstanding cultural experience that so many people enjoy each October.”
