Caroline Lambe has been promoted to publicity manager at Angry Robot, the sci-fi and fantasy imprint of Watkins Media, and its crime fiction imprint Datura Books.
Lambe previously worked with the imprint from 2013 to 2016 before leaving on maternity and taking a career break. Prior to Angry Robot, she worked for an independent publisher within her home town of Ireland across non-fiction, crime and literary fiction.
Angry Robot said: “Since returning, as a freelance lead title publicist, to the Angry Robot team under publisher Eleanor Teasdale in November 2020, Caroline has been a key component of both Angry Robot’s growth and continued success as well as the successful launch of Datura Books.
“She has spearheaded campaigns for the bestselling romantasy Glacian Trilogy from Tiktokker Stacey McEwan (@stacebookspace); the Korean translated and New York Times favourite The Cabinet by Un-su Kim; while championing authors across the list, furthering connections and relationships with booksellers, media, influencers, and members of both the SFF and crime communities.”
This move comes ahead of the publication of Angry Robot’s biggest title to date, Evocation by S T Gibson and the author’s tour of the UK starting on May 24th, with the US tour to follow in July.
Deputy managing director of Watkins Media Vicky Hartley said: “Caroline is the kind of publicist that authors and publishers dream of; she knows her market, builds incredible relationships and creates unmissable campaigns.
“She also brings so much more to Angry Robot, Datura and the wider Watkins Media team through mentoring, supporting and contributing fantastic initiatives. I can’t wait to see what she achieves as our publicity manager and I know that’s only the beginning for someone as talented as Caroline.”
Teasdale said: “Caroline has been pivotal in the success of the list from the day she rejoined us and I am so thrilled to mark her energy, talent and thoughtful care of authors with a promotion that means she’ll be leading the publicity efforts for both Angry Robot and Datura.”
Lambe said: “Since returning home to Angry Robot in 2020, it has been a joy to work alongside the team across Angry Robot, Datura and Watkins. I am honoured to be working as publicity manager and look forward to further developing creative and dynamic campaigns for all our books.”
