Award-winning publicist Carolyn May McGlone has launched the Oxfordshire-based May Literary Agency.
The company “will have a focus on the power of creativity to change the world, and promises to champion authors that ‘speak to your heart and soul’ with ‘voices that deserve to be heard’”, McGlone said.
Her first clients include Julie Farrell, founder of literature resource Inklusion, as well as TED fellow Andrew Bastawrous, Oxford Literary Festival’s Ben O’Donnell and The Bookshop Band.
McGlone previously held PR roles at David Fickling Books, Penguin Children’s and Usborne, as well as working as a bookseller and for literary charities.
She said: “I am so proud to be advocating for these visionary creatives, helping to bring their words to life for readers. As well as being a family name, the word ’may’ encapsulates the potential each and every one of them holds.”
McGlone has pledged to make a contribution to Refuge for each publishing deal secured on behalf of her clients.
