Casemate UK – the book distribution, marketing and sales agency – has been rebranded to Script Publisher Services and has recruited two new directors.
Based in South Yorkshire, Script is a major independent provider of global book sales, marketing and distribution services to book publishers from around the world.
Imogen Adams, formerly managing director of Eurospan, has been appointed managing director of Script’s academic and professional division. In addition, Michelle Zappa, who was formerly head of sales at Eurospan, is joining the team in February as sales and marketing director.
The company has also taken on new clients to its academic and professional department, including Lynne Rienner Publishers and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, as well as Stolpe and At Bay Press to its Trade Division.
In December, Script’s Distribution Division took on the distribution for a number of Saltway’s clients, including Kew, and for US publishers William B Eerdmans and Augsburg Fortress.
Script’s shareholders are the Pen & Sword Group and Casemate Group, and Script will continue to partner with Casemate to offer distribution coverage in the Americas.
Casemate UK was incorporated around 20 years ago as a specialist distributor of books and amalgamated the book distribution operations of Greenhill Books and, subsequently, Oxbow Books.
Adams said: “I am delighted to have joined the Script team at an exciting stage of its development, where we are now in a somewhat unique position of being able to offer specialist services to both the scholarly and trade publishing markets.”
Mike Hewitt, MD of Script, said: “We are excited with the developments at Script – the new branding which reflects our expertise across the different publishing channels, the arrival of Imogen and Michelle who together bring significant expertise and talent, and the consolidation of our warehousing and distribution into our own hub in South Yorkshire.
"We are honoured to be a trusted partner to both our new and existing clients, and we look forward to an exciting year ahead.”
Representing some 180 publishers, Script provides distribution services to both trade and academic and professional clients.
