Zennor Compton has been promoted into the newly-created role of editorial director from her role as senior commissioning editor at Century with immediate effect.
In her new role, Compton will continue to commission commercial non-fiction for Century with a particular focus on memoir, self-development, gift and lifestyle. She will also continue to report to publishing director Ben Brusey and manage assistant editor Callum Crute.
Compton joined Century from Penguin Michael Joseph in 2018 and has been responsible for publishing titles including Holly Willoughby’s Reflections and Anti-Social by Nick Pettigrew.
Forthcoming titles include former Lioness Alex Scott’s memoir How Not To Be Strong and online comedian Hayley Morris’ Me vs Brain.
Brusey said: “Zennor is one of our industry’s outstanding non-fiction commissioners, editors and publishers. Her editorial vision, commercial nous and passionate commitment to her books is beloved by authors and colleagues alike.
“I am thrilled to announce this richly deserved promotion, and I am excited to work even more closely with Zennor as she takes Century non-fiction to new heights, together with our talented colleagues Jess Ballance, editor, and Callum Crute, assistant editor.”
Compton said: “Every day I feel privileged to work with such talented, creative colleagues and authors. I’m delighted to be stepping up to the role of editorial director and helping to build, diversify and grow Century’s stellar list.”
