A Channel 4 TV tie-in has been announced for The Princes in the Tower: Solving History’s Greatest Cold Case by Philippa Langley, which will be published in November 2023 by the History Press.
Following years of intensive research by Langley and her international team, the results of "The Missing Princes Project" will be broadcast as a 90-minute, feature-length documentary on Channel 4 as well as published in the book. The working title for the TV show is “The Lost Princes".
The publisher’s description of the project reads: “Philippa Langley took the world by storm when she led the search and discovery of Richard III’s body. Now, she has turned her attention to the fate of the Princes in the Tower – a mystery that has held us in raptures and divided opinion for over 500 years.
“Following years of intensive research by Langley and her international team, the book reveals the findings of ‘The Missing Princes Project’. Using investigative methodology, it places this most enduring of mysteries under a forensic microscope for the first time, unearthing astonishing new archival discoveries along the way.”
Langley said: “This is a history-making documentary and edge of the seat viewing and I’m incredibly excited to see it air in the autumn to coincide with the publication of the book. I would like to thank Brinkworth Productions and Channel 4 for following The Missing Princes Project live investigation into this abiding historical mystery and for bringing it to life on our screens, extraordinary moment by extraordinary moment. And as to the conclusion of the project’s seven-year investigation – the wait will very soon be over!”
