DK has appointed Charlotte Coulais as art director for its DK Licensing list, working directly with major brands such as Lego, Disney, Warner Bros., The Met and The Science Museum.
Coulais joins DK after seven years as art director at Laurence King Publishing, where she has been "instrumental" in driving the creative direction across their gift programme, managing a team of in-house designers and the design on many bestselling titles. Ten years ago, she founded the design studio En Ville, working with clients and collaborators from a range of industries including fashion, lifestyle, culture and food.
Mark Searle, managing director of DK Licensing, said: “Charlotte’s extensive experience in the design and publishing worlds make her a perfect fit to lead the creative vision of the DK Licensing list. For 50 years, DK has been at the forefront of design, and with an innovator like Charlotte on board, I look forward to what we can achieve together.”
The appointment follows the a restructure of DK’s publishing divisions in late 2023, simplifiying its publishing structure into four divisions: DK Children’s, DK Licensing, DK Learning and DK Adult.
Coulais said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining DK as an art director and look forward to working with the team on an amazing licensed portfolio."
