This November Chatto & Windus will publish a collection of lockdown stories and experiences from BBC Radio 4’s "PM", with a foreword from the programme's presenter Evan Davis.
Editorial director Poppy Hampson acquired UK and Commonwealth rights including audio for Letters From Lockdown: A Selection of Covid Chronicles from BBC Radio 4’s PM Programme from the BBC.
In response to the different lockdown experiences people were having, BBC Radio 4's "PM" programme launched a Covid Chronicles series and listeners began sending in their lockdown stories to be read out on air.
The stories come from all over the UK and will range from the everyday (the thrill of booking a food delivery) to the momentous (a wedding on Zoom), with readers hearing about birth and death, loneliness and loss, community and kindness. There will also be accounts from those working on society’s frontlines—NHS workers, hospice doctors, teachers and parish priests.
Letters From Lockdown: A Selection of Covid Chronicles from BBC Radio 4’s PM Programme will be published on 26th November and £1 from every sale will goes to Children in Need.
