Authors including Neil Gaiman (pictured) and Eoin Colfer are among contributors to a new children’s magazine about literature and illustration.
Scoop, aimed at readers aged 8-12, will feature stories and poetry from authors, as well as non-fiction, comic strips, puzzles, reviews, and reader competitions. Other writers who have agreed to contribute include Laura Dockrill, Abi Elphinstone, Emerald Fennell, John Agard, Catherine Johnson and Philip Womack.
The magazine has been founded by Clementine Macmillan-Scott, co-ordinator of the Galle Literary Festival and the Galle Children’s Festival, and will be edited by Sarah Odedina, editor-at-large for Pushkin Press.
Scoop will publish 10 times per year and will be available in print and digital editions via subscription. The magazine costs £40 for an annual family subscription, or £160 for schools, which will be sent five copies of each edition.
Odedina is also the founder of The Read Quarterly, an online magazine about children's literature, aimed at an adult audience.
