Cara Chimirri, formerly of Bonnier Books UK, will take up the newly created role of editorial director for the new Hodder Digital strand next month.
She will start at Hodder & Stoughton on 14th December 2023, reporting to executive publisher Jo Dickinson. Previously Chimirri was editorial director for Embla, and she has previously worked within commercial fiction imprints at HarperCollins and Hachette, with a strong digital focus throughout her career.
Her newly created role at Hodder Digital follows the appointments of Lucy Stewart, senior commissioning editor, and Tallulah Lyons, editorial director, who have both recently joined Hodder’s Commercial Fiction commissioning team. Chimirri will lead Hodder Digital alongside a new commissioning editor, to be announced, and editorial assistant Olivia Robertshaw.
Dickinson said: “Cara’s vision and expertise are outstanding and I can’t wait for her to join the team at Hodder. We have exciting plans to grow our digital publishing globally and I know that Cara will lead with ambition, clarity and creativity.”
Chimirri said: “I am just so excited to be joining the phenomenal team at Hodder & Stoughton. This is truly a dream role to be stepping into, focusing on driving a market-leading digital list for Hodder’s commercial fiction."
She added: "I am passionate about all publishing, but digital fiction is truly my home and I can’t wait to create even more page-turning digital chart toppers with the team in 2024 and beyond.”
