DK has appointed an interim sales director after Ian Moore has decided to leave the business to start a new life with his family in Cornwall.
Ed Christie has been hired as the interim sales director, UK & Group in his place, reporting directly to global chief executive Ian Hudson.
Hudson said Moore had made a “tremendous contribution to DK”, adding “we wish him all the very best for his exciting new chapter.” His final day will be 15th December 2017.
Christie has over 20 years of experience in the book industry and joins DK from Penguin Random House UK, where he led the Sales team for Cornerstone, Vintage, Ebury, Transworld and Audio. Prior to this, Christie had been UK sales and marketing director at Transworld, with additional responsibilities for Random House Children's Books.
“Ed brings an impressive mix of sales and publishing experience to DK,” said Hudson. “He will lead our UK based sales and inventory teams as we seek to build on the success of our Autumn programme and grow our sales in 2018.”
Christie said he had “long-admired” DK’s publishing. "I am looking forward to working with Ian Hudson again, and I am excited to be joining the DK team,” he added.
