Bloomsbury's Claire Browne is to join Allison & Busby (A&B) as desk editor, the publisher has announced.
Browne joins from Bloomsbury where she was managing editor, working with authors including Michael Gillard and John Pearson. She began her career in publishing at Serpent’s Tail, where she acquired Carmen Maria Machado’s short story collection Her Body and Other Parties.
A&B publishing director Susie Dunlop said: "Claire was my first choice for this crucial role, and I couldn't be happier that she chose to join our small team."
Browne commented: "I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining such a brilliant, dynamic team at Allison & Busby. It’s a dream come true to work with such a creative and versatile company, on a truly world-class list of authors."
