Ben Clark and Carina Rizvi have been appointed as directors to the board of The Soho Agency.
Clark (pictured, right) joined the Lucas Alexander Whitley literary agency in 2009 as assistant to Julian Alexander and became a book agent in 2016. He will continue to build his successful list of non-fiction authors in the areas of history, philosophy, business, big ideas, economics and food and drink, as well as lead on contractual matters for the agency.
He said: “It’s a fantastic and intellectually stimulating time for me and I’m hugely excited to be part of shaping The Soho Agency and our list of talented clients.”
Rizvi is an agent and manager for award-winning talent, having joined as an agent at Factual Management in 2015. Her clients include YouTuber Colin Furze, television presenter Sarah Beeny, and elite athlete Catie Munnings. Rizvi will now lead digital for The Soho Agency, responsible for growing the department, developing social strategies and signing new talent.
She said: “I am thrilled to be taking on this new role. Digital has a vital role to play in growing the agency and creating exciting opportunities for our accomplished clients. I’m looking forward to continuing the work I’ve been doing, while also building a department that fits the agency’s future.”
The Soho Agency was launched in February 2019 by Julian Alexander, Sophie Laurimore, Mark Lucas, Philippa Milnes-Smith and Araminta Whitley, bringing together the literary and talent management of Lucas Alexander Whitley and Factual Management into one company. A theatre department under Helen Mumby was created in January 2020.
