Hachette's Sarah Clayton has been appointed head of UK Field Sales for Bonnier Publishing UK.
In her new role, Clayton will oversee the field sales teams for Bonnier Zaffre and Kings Road Publishing and will be additionally responsible for growing and developing sales in the North West, Wales, Midlands and West of England.
The role is a newly created position in preparation for the retirement of regional manager Graham Evans in August.
Clayton is currently working for the Hachette Group based in Dubai, managing the Middle East territories. Prior to this role, she was a books buyer for the Virgin Group in the UAE.
Clayton will relocate to the UK in July and take up her new role on 6th August, reporting into James Horobin, executive director at Bonnier Zaffre.
Horobin said: “In recognition of the importance of our independents and trade specialists, we have created this senior role to address the developing needs of our business. Sarah’s bookselling experience in both retail and publishing sales will help the field team to develop new growth strategies and provide the very best service to our customers. Sarah is a fantastic addition to a strong team and I’m hugely excited she’s joining us.”
Clayton added: “I have had an amazing six years in the Middle East and will never forget the wonderful people I have worked with here. I am delighted to be joining the brilliant Bonnier Publishing team on my return to the UK and look forward to working closely with the teams at Bonnier Zaffre and Kings Road Publishing to grow and develop regional sales.”
