Shannon Clinton-Copeland has been promoted to managing editor at Can of Worms Press and sister US company Leapfrog Press.
Rebecca Cuthbert, departing managing editor, said: “We have had the distinct pleasure and good fortune to have had Shannon work with us over the past 18 months in a freelance editorial capacity and I am delighted to pass the mantle on to her as the new managing editor.”
Clinton-Copeland has previously worked for the UEA Publishing Project’s Strangers Press and Boiler House Press imprints and was a bookseller for Waterstones. She is a member of the inaugural creatives advisory group for Norwich Theatre Royal, and works in and around schools and institutions in Norwich and Norfolk as a poet, writer and creative freelancer. Her poetry and short fiction have featured in print, online and on radio and she is currently studying for a masters in medieval and early modern textual cultures at the University of East Anglia.
Tobias Steed, publisher, said: “Shannon’s experience as a bookseller with Waterstones and at the UEA Publishing enterprise has been invaluable in supporting Rebecca as we have developed our publishing programme in the UK and with Leapfrog in the US. We are saddened to see Rebecca go as she pursues her own writing career and teaching practice, and thank her profusely for her stewardship of the Leapfrog Global Fiction Prize and publishing programme over the past couple of years.”
