Kathryn Colwell has been promoted to head of publicity at Head of Zeus, effective from 24th April 2023.
Previously senior publicity manager, she takes over from Kate Appleton, who will be moving to OneWorld Publications as publicity director.
Since joining Head of Zeus in 2021, Colwell has delivered nationwide publicity and events campaigns across the Apollo fiction and non-fiction imprints, most recently with The Wrath to Come by Sarah Churchwell, Maror by Lavie Tidhar and the upcoming Tiger Work by Ben Okri.
Previously, she worked as publicity manager for HarperCollins’ international publishing programme, Harper360, and at Laurence King Publishing and Allison & Busby Books.
In her new role Colwell will report to Dan Groenewald, sales and marketing director of Head of Zeus.
Groenewald said: “Kathryn has had an immediate and positive impact on the business leading on some major campaigns and becoming an integral part of the Head of Zeus team. She is the natural successor to Kate and I am thrilled she has accepted the role managing our top performing PR team. Kathryn steps into a position where the bar is set high by Kate who has done a fantastic job since we reformed our PR and marketing departments and I wish Kate the best in her new role as publicity director at OneWorld.”
Colwell said: “I’ve loved working at Head of Zeus over the past year, getting to know our fantastic authors and books. I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to progress into this role, within a company I’m hugely proud to contribute to. I’m looking forward to the challenge of leading on the publicity strategy across all of HOZ’s imprints, and to continuing to work with talented colleagues within our brilliant team and across the business.”
