Philip Connor is moving to Headline's Wildfire imprint as senior commissioning editor for non-fiction on 9th August.
He is currently commissioning editor at Penguin Random House Audio where he has built a list of audio non-fiction. Before that he worked at Unbound commissioning a wide range of fiction and non-fiction. He hosts the publishing podcast "What Editors Want", which features interviews with industry-leading editors about what they look for in a book, reviews for publications including the TLS and is the winner of the C√∫irt Festival’s New Writing Prize.
Connor will report to Alex Clarke, publishing director of Wildfire Books, who said: “We are really thrilled that Philip will be joining the editorial team here at Wildfire. He has a natural flair for truly creative and original non-fiction publishing, and an abundance of entrepreneurial spirit. I can’t wait to see what Philip will bring to the Wildfire list.”
Connor said: “I’m a huge fan of Wildfire’s publishing and ethos, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team. I was blown away by their energy and creativity - not to mention the incredible list of authors. I can’t wait to help expand their non-fiction into exciting new areas and learn from the brilliant editors there.”
