PRH division Cornerstone is scheduling an extensive book tour for rugby legend Kevin Sinfield and his memoir The Extra Mile, set for publication on 25th May 2023.
Sinfield is a former England captain who won seven Super League titles, three World Cup Challenges and two Challenge Cups in 521 matches for his club the Leeds Rhinos. Cornerstone triumphed in an 11-way auction for The Extra Mile.
The publisher describes it as “the memoir of one of the greatest rugby league players of all time, who in recent years has shown heroism of a very different kind through his selfless and extraordinary fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), the terminal illness that has affected his best mate and former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow”.
In a packed touring schedule for the book, Sinfield will be appearing at evening in-conversation events in Manchester, in conversation with broadcaster and presenter Sally Nugent; in York, in conversation with his former teammate at Leeds Rhinos Jamie Jones-Buchanan; in Leeds at Headingley Stadium, in conversation with commercial director of Leeds Rhinos Rob Oates; and in London, in conversation with Clare Balding CBE. The events are being delivered in partnership with Waterstones.
He will also be signing copies of his books at Truman Books in Leeds, at Headingley Stadium (in partnership with Philip Howard Books) and at Twickenham Stadium, as well as holding a private virtual event for the book for members of the MND Association. Klara Zak, publicity director at Century, said: “We are very excited to be working with Kevin Sinfield this Spring, this is a book (and man) you can expect to hear a lot about in May.”
