Historical novelist Bernard Cornwell will make a cameo appearance in the Netflix broadcast of "The Last Kingdom Season Three" later this year (pictured in character).
The 10-part third season is adapted by writer Stephen Butchard from Cornwell’s best-selling series of novels of the same name, set in ninth century England. Alexander Dreymon will reprise his role as the warrior Uhtred, continuing his quest to recapture his ancestral lands of Bebbanburg. The new season will also see the return of David Dawson as Alfred, Ian Hart as Father Beocca, and Emily Cox (Homeland) as Brida.
Cornwell, who released his latest book in the Last Kingdom series, War of the Wolf (HarperCollins), this week, will be discussing Uhtred’s latest adventure at the BBC History Magazine festival in Winchester this weekend and next week in Newcastle, Guildford and Cheltenham.
