Joe Cottington from Octopus is joining Welbeck Publishing Group as associate publisher for the non-fiction team.
Currently editorial director at Octopus, he has published titles including Oasis: Knebworth by Jill Furmanovsky and Daniel Rachel, Bowie by O’Neill with the late Terry O’Neill and Prick by Gynelle Leon, as well as artists and brands including the Sex Pistols, Classic FM, GQ and Sipsmith. He was previously at Ebury, where he worked with BBC brands including Doctor Who, Top Gear, Rick Stein and Match of the Day.
Wayne Davies, Welbeck Group publisher for adult non-fiction, said: “From our first meeting, Joe has felt like the perfect person to help take our adult illustrated lists to the next level. With his proven experience publishing music, sport, brands, gift and trend, allied with great creativity, commerciality and superb author relations, we knew he would be a great fit.”
