Fiona Crosby is joining Faber next month, in the newly created role of senior commissioning editor for non-fiction.
She makes the move on 18th March, and will report to associate publisher Laura Hassan. In the new job, she will commission across non-fiction, focusing particularly in the areas of history, memoir, comedy and gift books.
Crosby started her publishing career at Penguin Michael Joseph, where she commissioned breakout hit, The Salt Path by Raynor Winn (Penguin Books) and worked with a range of bestselling authors from Mary Berry to the codebreakers at GCHQ. Since joining Headline in 2018, she has broadened the reach of the list into new areas of narrative non-fiction, encompassing a range of genres including history, memoir, upmarket gift and current affairs. Her authors have included Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dr Anna Lembke, Adam Andrusier, Gerald Stratford, Jeremy Vine and Charlie Brinkhurst-Cuff.
"I’ve long admired Faber’s commitment to publishing the best writers, ideas and stories, so I’m honoured to be joining the team," she said. "It’s a privilege to have this opportunity to work with Laura on shaping the future of the non-fiction list, and I’m really looking forward to getting started."
Hassan said: "This is a crucial new role as we seek to strengthen and broaden our non-fiction list. Fiona is an imaginative, talented, energetic commissioning editor with a terrific track record and I’m delighted that we could lure her to Faber."
