Independent publisher of education and teaching titles Crown House Publishing is bringing UK and European-wide distribution back in house under the umbrella of its subsidiary, Anglo American Books. This will come into effect from 1st March 2024 and was announced in light of the closure of Grantham Book Services (GBS).
Crown House Publishing’s managing director David Bowman said: “Anglo American Books currently distributes books for a growing list of UK and US publishers and, with GBS set to close in 2025, it made sense for us to add Crown House Publishing to that list. We have a great set-up here in west Wales and an efficient team who already process a significant number of trade and direct sales on a daily basis. The increased volume will be a welcome challenge and a boost for the local economy.
“We wish to thank GBS for their great service throughout the time we have worked with them, in particular our wonderful account manager Michaela McGorty.”
Crown House Publishing has been operating since 1998 and holds the fifth largest market share in the field of Education & Teaching as of June 2023. The publisher employs 13 members of staff and its books are available globally through a network of overseas distributors.
