Dan Edwards has been named Penguin Random House UK's new deputy group publishing operations director.
Edwards, who has been production director at Penguin Adult for the past five years, joined the company in 1999. He took his first role at Transworld Publishing before moving to Random House Children’s Production, and later Penguin Production. During his time at the publisher he worked on projects including the merger of Penguin and Random House’s inventory management departments.
In his new role, Edwards will continue to report to Stephen Esson, group publishing operations director.
Esson said: "This a well deserved change in role. Within our organisation, Dan is uniquely qualified to take up this position, having direct management experience of, and detailed technical understanding of, the three main areas with Publishing Operations: Inventory Management and Stockholding, Production and eBook production and file distribution.
"Alongside his proven experience of leading and managing teams effectively, Dan will bring his in-depth understanding of our systems and their interdependencies within our wider technology landscape to the role."
