Dark Horse Comics, a publisher of Neil Gaiman’s comic books and graphic novels, has cancelled upcoming books by the author following the most recent allegations of sexual misconduct.
The publisher announced that the publication of Gaiman’s Anansi Boys series had been halted, after the author was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women in an article published by New York Magazine/Vulture on 13th January. The author had previously been accused of sexual assault in Master: The Allegations against Neil Gaiman, a podcast released by Tortoise Media in July 2024.
Gaiman has denied all the allegations, saying in a statement: "I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone."
In a post on X, the American publisher, which is based in Milwaukie, Oregon, said: "Dark Horse takes seriously the allegations against Neil Gaiman and we are no longer publishing his works.
"Confirming that the Anansi Boys comic series and collected volume have been cancelled."
Headline and Bloomsbury, Gaiman’s UK publishers, have previously not responded to The Bookseller’s repeated requests for comment.
Meanwhile, film and TV projects based on Gaiman’s works have also been reportedly impacted over the past months, as allegations have been brought against the author.
The Bookseller has approached the author’s representatives for comment.
