Darley Anderson and Associates has announced the promotion of Georgia Fuller to head of rights, overseeing all international rights for the adult fiction list and heading the agency’s dedicated in-house rights team. She is joined by Francesca Edwards, who steps into the role of rights executive.
After starting her publishing career within the rights team at Bloomsbury, Fuller made the transition to agency work in January 2019, starting out as a rights agent, and most recently, rights manager. In her five years at the agency, Darley Anderson said Fuller has “excelled, building hugely successful relationships across all the territories she handles”. She takes over the role from Mary Darby, who is leaving the agency after 13 years to pursue new opportunities.
Fuller said: “I’m thrilled about this exciting step up and to continue Mary’s legacy. I’ve had the privilege of learning from one of the true greats in the industry and it will be big shoes to fill, but I am looking forward to the challenge. Leading the rights department with the support of our fantastic rights executive, Francesca, is a wonderful opportunity and I can’t wait to carry on working with our brilliant international partners on the continued success of our phenomenal list of bestselling authors all over the world.”
Camilla Bolton, agent and managing director at Darley Anderson, added: “Georgia has a remarkable passion, commitment and understanding of our authors. Every deal she does is a beautiful balance of strategy and ambition. The long-term relationships she has with publishers and co-agents worldwide are a testament to her knowledge and instinct for international markets. She is an invaluable member of the agency and key part of our future and continuing our success. I know she will head the team with heart, flair and boldness.
“We are also delighted for Francesca’s new role as rights executive. Joining the Darley Anderson Agency in May 2023, from the outset Francesca has shown tenacity and a hunger for our author’s titles and the publishing industry.
“The agency is incredibly sad to say goodbye to Mary, she has been a magnificent rights agent, author advocate and spearheaded the team brilliantly in her time at the agency.”
