Author Jeff Deutsch will be joined by m.d. of the Bookseller’s Association Meryl Halls, Waterstones m.d. James Daunt and Bill Samuel, nephew of Foyle’s owner Christina Foyle, at a panel event for In Praise of Good Bookstores (Princeton University Press).
The event will take place on 17th October at 7pm at Foyles’ flagship store on Charing Cross Road, London, and will delve into Deutsch’s latest book, which is an ode to the trade. It will be followed by an audience Q&A and a book signing. Doors will open from 6.45pm.
Deutsch, who is director of Chicago’s Seminary Co-op Bookstores, will then embark on a European tour. Overall the tour will comprise 10 events across 10 cities in five countries. Deutsch will appear at the European and International Booksellers Federation in Frankfurt, at De Groene Waterman in Antwerp and the American Library in Paris, before continuing in America.
