Burnett said: "I’ve had the time of my career at HarperCollins these last six years, working on brilliant books by inspiring authors and alongside some of the most talented people in our industry. I am particularly grateful to Lisa Milton and Jo Rose for trusting me with such precious cargo during my time with HQ and Pavilion. Only a truly amazing opportunity could tempt me to leave. Lizzy Gray and her team at Bluebird have an exciting, clear-eyed vision for its future publishing and I can’t wait to join them on their journey to connect readers with books that will help them live happier, healthier and more purposeful lives."
Gray said: "I am absolutely thrilled that Dawn is joining us to play a pivotal role in Bluebird and One Boat’s evolution. The Pan Macmillan communications team and I have long admired Dawn’s award-winning and award- nominated campaigns at HarperCollins and Simon & Schuster. Dawn brings rare energy and deep insight to her work – as well as being an experienced strategist, energising personality and an advocate for diversity in our industry. She shares Bluebird’s mission to empower diverse audiences with high-quality content. Jodie Lancet Grant, Associate Publisher, and I very much look forward to Dawn being our right-hand woman in the exciting time ahead."
Burnett will join Bluebird on Monday, 3rd February 2025.
