Del Rey UK is to publish a paranormal thriller by film director Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
The Hollow Ones is the first instalment in a new paranomal crime series, following the exploits of rookie FBI agent Odessa Hardwicke.
Del Toro is best known for films including the Hellboy series, "Pacific Rim", "Pan's Labyrinth" and "The Shape of Water", which won the 2018 Oscar Award for Best Picture.
Del Rey editor Sam Bradbury said: "Guillermo del Toro is one of my favourite storytellers—of any medium, and partnered with the superb Chuck Hogan, whose wonderful style, imagination and skill enlightens every scene in the book, this is a series I can't wait to share with the world. Working with these two incredible talents on this fantastic and darkly wondrous paranormal crimes series is a career highlight."
Hogan's novels include Devils in Exile and Prince of Thieves, which won the 2005 Hammett Award, and inspired the film "The Town".
Together, they have written The Strain trilogy and the FX series for television.
Del Rey UK is a newly relaunched science fiction and fantasy imprint of Penguin Random House, and will publish the book in the UK, British Commonwealth countries and America on 4th August. The Hollow Ones will be published in America by Grand Central Publishing.
