DHA sponsors children’s writing programme

David Higham Associates is supporting Little Green Pig, a creative writing programme for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Based in Brighton and Hove, LGP runs workshops for 11-18 year-olds on different kinds of creative writing, from fiction to radio scripts. With DHA’s support they will run activities such as an after-school writing club in Whitehawk and a residency programme in Moulsecoomb. Around 350 children will benefit from these projects, said DHA.

Veronique Baxter, agent at DHA, said: “The opportunity to support Little Green Pig’s amazing work in Brighton was an irresistible one for us. The team are so passionate and brilliant at what they do and we were blown away by their ability to make a real difference in the lives of children who have very little exposure to the world of books and the joys of writing.”

Over a period of a year the DHA team will visit the projects and hopes to engage children’s and YA writers from their lists with the charity. It is also providing financial support.
