Dialogue Publishing’s imprints will be merged with John Murray Press in 2025, The Bookseller can reveal.
Dialogue Books and Renegade, the two imprints under the Dialogue Publishing umbrella, will remain linked, and Hachette UK has said that "there will be no diminution in ambition, prioritisation or support for the Dialogue team or authors".
John Murray Press is led by m.d. Nick Davies. Dialogue became a stand-alone division of Hachette in 2022, having been founded by Sharmaine Lovegrove in 2017.
Earlier this week Lovegrove’s appointment as cultural strategist at Hachette UK and publisher-at-large for Dialogue was announced.
Editorial director at Dialogue Hannah Chukwu and Renegade publisher Christina Demosthenous will continue leading Dialogue Books and Renegade respectively.
“I have worked very closely with Nick Davies, m.d. at John Murray Press, over the last seven years as co-chairs and, more recently, co-patrons of Changing the Story," Lovegrove said. "With my departure, John Murray Press is a natural home where Dialogue can continue to thrive, and I am thrilled that the peerless Dialogue team and authors will benefit from working with Nick and the JMP team."
Dialogue Books and Renegade’s authors and their agents were informed of the news earlier in the week, according to Hachette UK.
