Dialogue Books has unveiled a giant “spillboard” in London revealing the cover of its 2023 super lead Rosewater by gal-dem founder Liv Little.
M.d. Sharmaine Lovegrove pre-empted the début novel, described as a “remarkable, modern, multi-generational love story”, last year from Abigail Bergstrom at Bergstrom Studio in a six-figure, two-book deal.
Its giant ad is located at the Coldharbour Lane exit of Loughborough Junction station. Dialogue said: “Designed to make a statement about our intentions for the book, the board shows this glorious cover off in all its glory, as well as highlighting wonderful endorsements from Bernardine Evaristo and Bolu Babalola, and making pre-orders easy via a handy QR code.”
Little joined the unveiling herself, showing the cover off to her 42,500 social media followers.
As part of the reveal, Dialogue worked with Jack Arts to run a sampling stunt at the station where volunteers in branded t-shirts handed out bespoke bottles of rose-scented cosmetics with QR codes to rush-hour travellers.
The team said: “We’ve been kindly supported by Waterstones, who we tagged on the board itself and on these cosmetic bottles, capturing pre-orders and directing readers to find out more about the book.”
The billboard will be in place for two weeks from publication and kicks off the first hardback campaign of Dialogue’s new future as a standalone division within Hachette.
