Associate editor at Dialogue Books Amy Baxter has been promoted to editor, starting in her new role on 1st July 2022.
Baxter joined Little, Brown in June 2021. Alongside Dialogue, run by publisher Sharmaine Lovegrove, she also works across Little, Brown/Abacus and Virago.
She was previously with Michael Joseph as editorial assistant, was a 2021 Bookseller Rising Star and is editor-in-chief at Bad Form magazine, which she founded in September 2019.
At Dialogue, Baxter has already begun to acquire, with her first book for the list, The Dating Plan by Sara Desai, publishing in paperback in July 2022.
Baxter said: “I could not be more excited to be working full-time on Dialogue Books. Dialogue’s mission of working with marginalised authors is one that I am very passionate about, and I can’t wait to continue supporting and acquiring more authors traditionally excluded from mainstream publishing.
“Working with Sharmaine (even on parental leave) has been an absolute treat, and I really look forward to working more closely with her and the Dialogue team.”
Clare Smith, executive publisher of literary imprints at Little, Brown, said: “Dialogue is an extraordinary, inspiring imprint and Amy is an extraordinary and inspiring colleague. I am thrilled to see her talent recognised as she moves to Dialogue full-time and also very excited to see the books she has already acquired come to publication.”
