DK has appointed Miles Poynton in the newly created role of international sales director. Poynton joined DK at the start of February, reporting to Nina Scales, MD, UK & International, and all of DK’s export teams have been consolidated under his leadership.
Poynton joins from The Canelo Group where he was sales and marketing director. He has worked in book sales for nearly 30 years, including roles as international and digital sales director at Faber, and UK trade sales director at Little, Brown Book Group.
DK CEO Paul Kelly said: "Miles has a proven track record for excellence in international sales, which will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business in global markets. This appointment comes at a pivotal moment for DK as we make strategic investments in our publishing business. I am confident that Miles will play a key role in driving our global success."
Scales said: "International English language sales are a huge growth opportunity for us, across both non-fiction and fiction. Miles brings an enormous amount of experience in selling across the world, and with him leading our experienced export sales teams, there’s no doubt that they’ll be able to reach new heights of success."
Poynton said: "I’m delighted to join DK as International Sales Director and be part of such a talented team. I’m looking forward to building on from the success over recent years to grow our global presence and bring DK’s innovative publishing to even more readers around the world. It will also be good to continue to work with my colleagues at Canelo."
