Cara Armstrong has been appointed editorial director for DK’s Life division.
She joins the publisher from Pavilion Books, where she is currently commissioning editor, working with food and drink titles specifically. While at Pavilion, she delivered a number of titles including Sugar, I Love You from Instagram sensation and "Junior Bake Off" judge Ravneet Gill, and the upcoming Joe’s Kitchen from MasterChef semi-finalist Joe Swash.
“I am incredibly excited to be joining the DK Life team at this pivotal moment for the company, to be working with such wonderful existing authors as Rebecca Wilson, Riaz Phillips and Andi Oliver and to continue discovering future bestsellers, trendsetters and forward-thinking voices in food and drink," she said. "I can’t wait to begin working with Katie Cowan, Rebecca Smart and Paul Kelly to continue building the success of this already incredibly enviable list.”
Cowan, DK’s publishing director, added: “I am thrilled that Cara will be heading our food and drink publishing at DK Life. Our paths have crossed over the years from her first impressive pitching of bestselling Mob Kitchen as an agent and I have admired her keen commissioning talent as she transitioned into publishing roles. We look forward to her joining Zara Anvari and Marleigh Price in our acquisitions team.”
Armstrong will join DK on 18th July.
