Emma Dowson has joined agency ED Public Relations as an account director, bringing the Myriad list with her.
Dowson is a publicist with 20 years' experience, working in-house and freelance for Transworld, Orion, HarperCollins, Penguin Random House and indies including Salt and Myriad, where she created the New Daughters of Africa campaign. She has also run the Wimbledon Book Festival PR for the past five years.
Emma Draude, m.d. of EDPR, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Emma to our award-winning team. She brings with her a wealth of experience across literary and genre fiction, non-fiction and events and a passion for creating campaigns of creativity and excellence. It is also an added pleasure to welcome Myriad to our roster of clients. Myriad publishes truly ground-breaking titles by extraordinary storytellers as well as seeking out, and nurturing, exceptional new talent; a mission that really speaks to our own values as a company.”
Dowson added: “EDPR is going from strength to strength and I’m over the moon to be joining Emma and her wonderful team of publicists. I’ve long been an admirer of their innovative campaigns and their commitment to publicising underrepresented voices. The company has recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and is working on an amazing array of titles in 2021, so I’m thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time.”
Candida Lacey, publishing director for Myriad, said the move to ED was an “exciting development” for the firm and its authors.
She said: “Emma has steered our publicity strategy from the start, helping to build Myriad’s profile as well as stand-out campaigns for every book. We’re delighted that she’ll now be supported by EDPR’s exceptional team and thrilled to be working with a PR company that shares our passion for championing original storytellers and diverse voices.”
