Emily Drabble, the former co-editor of the Guardian children’s books site, is joining BookTrust.
Drabble is taking on the role of head of children’s book promotion and prizes, reporting to Jill Coleman, director of children’s books. She will join the charity on 5th September.
Diana Gerald, c.e.o. of BookTrust, said: “I am delighted to announce Emily Drabble’s new appointment. BookTrust exists to transform lives by inspiring a love of reading and we now have an even stronger, talented and inspirational team to get our message across and get even more children reading.”
Drabble left the Guardian after the newspaper closed its children’s books site earlier this month because of financial constraints.
