Ebury is creating new leadership roles across its smart non-fiction hub with promotions for Jamie Joseph, Robyn Drury and Géraldine Collard.
Joseph is promoted to publishing director for W H Allen and Drury is stepping up to publishing director for Ebury Press, while Collard has been appointed senior commissioning editor for Ebury Edge.
All three will work closely with head of campaigns Laura Nicol who will continue to help shape the lists and lead the publicity and marketing teams for the hub. Meanwhile publishing director Albert DePetrillo will continue to oversee Witness Books, the hub’s nature and environmental imprint launched in association with Sir David Attenborough.
These changes follow deputy publisher Drummond Moir’s departure to head up Atlantic Books.
Ebury publisher Andrew Goodfellow said: “It was an easy decision to show faith in the incredibly strong talent we already have within our smart non-fiction team.
“Jamie, Robyn, Géraldine and the whole team have all been doing stellar commissioning that has shaped the direction of each imprint. This structure sets a leader for each of the imprints that will help drive us forward with a clear strategy.”
Joseph, who publishes authors such as Ed Conway and Adam Grant, said: “I want to publish big stories and fascinating ideas from the most engaging writers and thinkers around.”
“After nearly seven years at Ebury, and collaborating with so many wonderful authors, it’s a delight to be stepping up,” Drury said. “I’m looking forward to working with our very talented team to take our publishing to even greater heights.”
Drury’s list at Ebury Press comprises memoir and distinctive voice-led narrative non-fiction, with authors including Michael Rosen, Clare Balding and Nazir Afzal.
Collard said: “I’m delighted to be leading our dynamic business and performance list. Having joined Ebury 18 months ago, I have found in the team incredibly talented and collaborative colleagues, and together, we look forward to bringing more transformative books to readers worldwide.”
Ebury Edge said it is celebrating its strongest season since its inception with the Sunday Times number one bestseller The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett, and is gearing up for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Be Useful (10th October).
