British Book Award winner Phil Earle is launching his new book While The Storm Rages with an extensive national marketing and publicity drive by Andersen Press.
The publisher began with a party at Waterstones in Tottenham Court Road and has also secured a cover take-over of The Bookseller magazine plus adverts in the Buyers Guide, paid-for advertising across NetGalley and being named Toppsta Book of the Month. Special point-of-sale material has also been created for schools and bookshops.
The book has already been the Times Children’s Book of the Week, and there will be further media appearances throughout the summer with Earle, including with BBC Manchester, The Week Junior and more. Earle will also visit more than 20 schools throughout June with more signings and appearances around the country, plus events at the Wimbledon and Hay festivals. His online event for schools on 8th June is estimated to reach 7,500 school children around the country.
Andersen’s rights team said they have “seen great success” with Earle’s While The Storm Rages, with a further three rights deals made for the new book. His previous book When The Sky Falls has six translation deals with a further two pending, and a successful audio version published by Bolinda. When The Sky Falls won Book of the Year Children’s Fiction at the British Book Awards, the children’s fiction category at Books Are My Bag Reader Award and is currently shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal, alongside a clutch of local awards.
Earle said: “The past year has been an amazing ride with the team at Andersen Press with everything we’ve done for When The Sky Falls, and to be here ready to do it all again with While The Storm Rages makes me feel incredibly lucky to have a publisher and a team so thoroughly behind me. I’ll be up and down the country meeting booksellers, teachers and readers and I can’t wait!”
